An easy to prep Korean inspired lunch on a lazy weekend.
Ingredients:
1kg beef breakfast steak
3 tablespoons brown or muscovado sugar
3/4 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
1/4 cup chopped onions
4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
Instructions:
Slice beef against grain into ¼ inch slices that are 2-3 inches long. In a non-stick pot, stir together sugar, soy sauce, oil, sesame seeds, onions, garlic and black pepper. Add the meat until all the slices are coated. Cover and marinate 1-2 hours at room temperature or 4 or more in a refrigerator.
Heat the marinated beef to boiling. Then lower heat to low-medium and simmer until beef is tender, approximately 45minutes. Adjust seasonings as needed. Serve with additional sesame seeds on top and with some sauteed vegetables on the side.
